Here's to New Beginnings

Hello All!

As some of you may know, I interviewed for a 4th grade position at Goshen Elementary a few weeks ago. Before going into the interview, I was extremely nervous. This was my first real interview and it was for a job that I wanted very badly. While I was nervous, I knew God had it in His hands and He would put me on the right path in life. A few days later, I was offered the job and was extremely thrilled. I remember calling my father and screaming "I GOT THE JOB!" and crying on the phone with him. I was also able to come home that night and completely surprise my mother...finally, dad kept a secret from her! :) I am excited to be the new 4th grade math and writing teacher, especially since math is my absolute favorite! I can't wait to see what the year holds. I am looking forward to meeting all of my students and beginning my teaching career. There is no way that I could have made it this far without wonderful support systems such as my parents, sister, friends, and teaching mentors.

If you are a teacher and have any ideas or anything you would like to share from your classroom to mine, please feel free to comment. I can't wait to get into my classroom and start decorating bulletin boards and making it my own!

Original Thoughts

I am starting this blog to keep up with all the fun things that go on in my daily teaching life. As many of you may know, after graduating high school in 2009 I decided to further my education at Troy University in Troy, Alabama. I started classes in the fall of 2009 and at that point I was not sure where I wanted my life to go, but I knew I would soon figure it out. I decided to major in Elementary Education and I absolutely loved every minute of it. I enjoyed going into the classrooms and observing teachers as they taught their students and how the students learned from these teachers. In the fall of 2013 I began my internship at Goshen Elementary in 1st grade and 6th grade and I absolutely loved it! I graduated in December and began substitute teaching in January with Kelly Services. Substituting has allowed me to further my knowledge in the education field and I can't wait to see what the future holds! Keep checking back for more updates, I would love to hear your comments! :)
